CQC registration help with your policies

Looking for help with your CQC registration? OrCore Compliance supports one part of it: writing your CQC policies from how you actually work.

What kind of help this is

OrCore Compliance is an automated interview for health and social care providers who are registering with CQC or updating their policies. You answer fixed questions about how your business works, and your answers fill our master policies to make draft policies for you to check and sign off.

We record what you tell us. We don't tell you what your service does or how it runs. The policies are yours, and they describe your service as you told us it runs.

What you get at the end

A set of draft CQC policies written from your answers, as documents you can edit. CQC lists the documents it asks every provider applicant to send on its documents everyone must send page.

If you get stuck

Type "help" at any time in the interview to see the commands, "more" for more about the current question, or "links" for further reading. If you're not sure of an answer yet, type "skip" to leave it for later. A few questions are asked of every provider and can't be skipped. You can also send us a question with "/ask".

You can see the status of your OrCore interview with your resume code. This is the status of your OrCore interview only, not your CQC application. We can't see CQC's systems, so please check your application with CQC directly.

How OrCore Compliance works

  1. You answer fixed questions about your business on a screen. Most questions ask you to describe what you do in your own words.
  2. Your answers fill OrCore's master policies, so the drafts describe your service in your own terms.
  3. You read each draft policy, change anything that isn't right, and sign it off as your own. Nothing is final until you have.

A typical home care business answers about 618 questions. The exact number depends on your service, because questions that don't apply to you are left out. Allow around six to eight hours in total. Most people spread it over several sittings.

Stop and come back later

Your answers are saved after every question. When you start, you get a resume code, so you can stop at any time and carry on later on any device. Keep your code private, because anyone who has it can see and change your answers.

What OrCore does not do

OrCore does not give advice. The questions record what you tell us your business does. They don't tell you how to run your service, and they don't set any standard or figure. For advice about your own service, please speak to a qualified specialist of your choice.

No guarantee of registration. CQC makes its own decision on every application, and nobody can promise an outcome. Your policies are one part of your application, and you are responsible for checking that each one describes how your business really works.
